Hey hey! I know most of this information is already available throughout the forums, but I wanted to get it organized. We're going to be making a big deal out of the contests. It's part of the Forum's holy trinity, along with the Workshop and Roleplay. Each contest winner will be awarded a shiny medal. Who's going to be first? Nothing speaks louder than hardware. If I were eligible, I'd be wanting to get some of that before anyone else does.
The contest schedule is set. We will have the usual three from the OG--short story, flash, and poetry--but have added a Fourth Contest to shake things up. It's kind of wildcard/grab bag that we're very excited about. Lots of fun, quirky ideas to get the juice flowing. Check out the schedule here.
Currently, the Fourth Contest is the only one active, so get your ass over there and check it out. It's a critique jam to see who can break down a piece the best. If I haven't mentioned it in the last 48 hours, you learn more from critiquing others than from being critiqued yourself. Submissions will close at 23:59 GMT on Saturday June 7th.
Our first Short Story Contest will be open for submission on June 1st and close on the 15th. Voting will then commence until the end of the month, just as it always has. We imported the prompt schedule from the OG but flipped things around to have an Open Prompt for the first go-round. Check it out here for more detail.
Poetry and Flash will commence on the 15th of each month with voting following on the first of the following month. We'll have more information on those as their dates draw near.
