It's been many years since I've joined a new forum, but here I am.

I've done a bit of writing, back in the day, and I always cringe whenever I find one of those stories in my archives. About 2 weeks ago I started a creative fiction writing class and it has reminded me how much I enjoyed writing those stories. The class is helping with my craft, and I'm hoping WF.org will be a place to share and fine tune some of my stories.

Tell us about yourself, what do you like to write?

I had to write a short story for my creating writing class. It started as a flash fiction that was I thought was going to be a ghost story, but it turned into a psychological horror. I wrote another flash fiction piece that picks up a bit after the first story, and now I'm 3-1/2 chapters into... something. I hesitate to call it a novel because of all the baggage that word carries. We'll see what the story turns into.

Right now it's pretty mundane, but I have a feeling it's going to turn dark and urban fantasy'ish. The MC is a former Army grunt and Afghanistan veteran, so there will be more guns and less fireballs than the Dresden Files, but I think this guy will be able to give Harry a run for his money when it comes to blowing up buildings.

It is a lot of baggage, but I bring a lot of it on myself, telling anyone who will listen (or not), that I'm writing a Novel. A horror novel, at that! It kind of pushes me on. I'm 65K in...aiming for 105(ish)K. I don't give it nearly the attention it deserves, and my characters are getting pissed at me.
