Speaking of, what's a good name for an enemy creature?

I'm writing a story that involves humans being turned into cannibalistic creatures of the night kinda like demons in Demon Slayer. Their abilities will be different and the lore, of course, will be not be the same. Humans-turned-monsters-that-eat-humans is a pretty common thing in a lot of stories so I want to try and think of a good name for them.
But I would like to hear any and all names for any monster or enemy that y'all have come up with or liked in any piece of media that you've consumed. A name tells a lot about what kind of monster they are.

Edit: Thank you to the mod who moved this thread!

I think this shouldn't be placed in the workshop, but under Writing Discussions, I'm sure a mod will be able to move the topic for you.

Think about your creatures, do they crawl? -Night Crawlers
Do they run fast? -The Demon-Sprint
Do they fly? -Winged Horrors
Etc. Basically what are their features? Try to combine it with different words and see what you can get. You can use the Latin or Greek variant of the words and combine them to create even more variations.

!!!! Oh thank you! Sorry, I was trying to think of the best place to post this. Already fumbled my first post lol.

I was also considering using Latin or some other dead language to find a good term that could match. Thank you for the suggestions!

Well, obviously in Kimetsu no Yaiba they're called oni. Ghouls would be an approximate western/middle-eastern equivalent (ghuls was an older transliteration). Golden Night Garo calls them Horrors. Berserk has Apostles, although they are high level ones. The ones in Claymore are called Youma.

Don't worry. The workshop is for texts you have written, so that others can give you critique and help you improve your writing. The Writing Discussions seems like a better fit right now.

I've done this several times in the past, and usually come up with terms that pop!

So, I went to the Google translate English to Latin and came up with the following;

The feared = Timuit
The hungry = Esurientem
The unjust = Iniustae

And so on ... the possibilities are endless.
