We've all been there, trying to copy and pest a text into a workshop post only for it to be completely messed up upon being pasted. This usually happens after you do a simple copy, paste. Either with ctrl-c. ctrl-v or by mouse.

But did you know that you can right-click on the text screen and select "paste as plain text"? This usually gets better results when pasting the text.

At least this works on Windows with Chrome browser, not sure if it works elsewhere.

Let us know how it works for you!

A lot depends how your original document is formatted. If you're pasting from Word, and you're writing using the default formatting, your line breaks will get borked.

OTOH, if you're formatting using a format similar to Shunn manuscript format, with 1.5 line spacing and extra spacing after each paragraph break, it will come out fine, bar any exotic formatting like weird fonts and stuff. I could upload a template document, but file uploads aren't allowed. Copying and pasting on to the forum would work, mostly without issue.

This confuses me. How is 1.5 LS plus extra inter-paragraph space similar to Shunn? Particularly the extra vertical space sounds annoyingly opposite to professional-looking...

That's the format I use for writing, not for submission. Or whatever the setting is. I CBA to look it up properly.
