    Today I learned...

I live there and never heard of that fact. I did spend most of my time in history class drawing dinosaurs on my pages instead of listening to the teacher, though. You can tell I still have that amazing awareness with how I managed to miss a post about my hometown right above my last one. One...

    Language Learning Thread

I'm French-Canadian and happy to answer any questions about the French language anyone might have. I encourage any Scandinavian friend to laugh and correct me over my characters/places' names if they feel like it.

    Today I learned...

For the longest time, I'd assumed the word "preen" could only be used for feathers and "groom" was for fur. I was told they can both be used interchangeably.

Fantastic Beasts and how we live with them

I did have the audacity of saying I have a parrot without paying the tax and sharing pictures of him. Allow me to redeem myself for this affront.

    Hail Warrior

Thank you! Yeah, I've been pawing around, breaking the ice a little. Haha.

    What are you working on?

Right now, I have three projects going. The first and main one is The Frozen Forest, a story about an undead dragon entity named Drekar (whose name always gets me humming the Svartsot song of the same name) who preys not on flesh but on minds; his influence is so bad the entire forest he haunts...

The LAST sentence you wrote today

"The old Worg of ashen fur never once looked back." Bit standoffish, that one.

    What Won't You Write?

I would never write a bird dying. Like, I refuse. They may be wounded, but they'll never die. I'll have someone tend to them. If somehow a car would slam into a birb in one of my stories, it's the car that's blowing up. I'll also never do sexually explicit scenes. I hate when they come up...

    Share your first three sentences

Oh, this looks fun. From my short story, "Wanderer": The air was cold and crisp and the hilly woodland silent save for the creaking of boughs and the slow drip of thawing frost. Upon a bed of fallen pine needles lay a twitching clump of ragged feathers, twisted and tattered. An eagle young...

What Does Underwriting Mean to You?

I'm of that mindset. I'll go with a general idea for length, but I'm not bound to it. I like to watch the story take the space it needs. Like watching a plant grow. It can thrive, it can be unexpected but pleasing, it can grow out of control, or it can wither and die (RIP my poor tomatoes).

    Your Writing Feats

I've been working on a considerably longer story than the short backstories or RPG posts I do. So far, it's going well and I'm mostly happy with how it's going. I'm even more happy that I'm working on it in the first place, let alone got to chapter 3 with it (around 10k words or so), because I...

    Why do you write?

Writing is the best way I can give my characters life. Drawings are a moment in time, but stories are where they truly live. It's very hard for me to write with my ADHD, but I still do it because I love it that much. I enjoy the escapism.

What Is One Thing All Your Stories Have In Common?

I always end up emphasizing strength in adversity in my stories. Whether it be physical (rather self-evident as my characters are mighty giants with many foes to face), or psychological, with them braving through hardships and whatnot. It keeps sneaking in whether I'm conscious of it or not.

    Hail Warrior

Greetings. I had been looking into joining new communities as the few friends I have are mostly not interested in my projects. So I found this Googling. I am Obbs, and I draw giant floofs and also write about them. My writing is chiefly inspired by Kull the Conqueror and Conan the Barbarian...
