Tropes and Genres You've Never Heard Of Before

Bioshock? Also, I've heard the term solarpunk before, but can anyone tell me what it is? Is it referring to like solar-power tech?

    Optimistic Idealism. Dead? Boring?

Could this even be applied to Viking society? Can it truly be utopia where there are slaves and violence? That does illustrate my earlier point about why utopias can't really exist, each individual has their own version of what it means that conflicts with others. I'm sure the slaves wouldn't...

    Optimistic Idealism. Dead? Boring?

Aren't all Utopias cosy? Isn't that kind of the point?

Cosy crime is apparently a thing, it came up as an autocomplete suggestion while doing a dictionary search of all places.

What made me unhappy today ?

Partly that, partly anti pattern designed to trap users into keeping with an ecosystem or into paying more or whatever. Either case is corporate will against usability. You forgot the ID: 10-T problem.

    Things AI can do

Yeah, I noticed the internal logic inconsistency. At this point I'd be fairly sure all their emails were AI generated. Things AI can do

One would hope this is not what they are charging $99 for, the editorial review letter. Though I also wouldn't be surprised. See, that's where I take issue. How does the machine know what makes something great? You can tell it to look for signs A, B, or C, but if it falls outside of those...

    Things AI can do

That's kind of me feeling on the matter. Beyond the technical, how can an AI actually determine what is emotionally resonant, innovative or interesting. And on the purely technical, I could see writing like McCarthy's being auto rejected. But maybe they don't care about interesting and only...

    Things AI can do

I wonder if it just sends those out to everyone, or if it actually has some specific acceptance criteria. Maybe they're just seeing who will respond to the edit notes. How do you tell an AI to accept something that is essentially a subjective judgement call? I couldn't help but laugh at the...

Is it just me, or does it feel like there is a lot of subtext going on there? Just me? Moving right along... Subtext : the submariners operating manual.
