    The Yarncrafters Thread!

I was kind of sick today so in-between the writing I did I made a good bit of progress on my crochet projects! The green sweater has been assembled for a while but I finally cut all the loose ends from the color changes. I might extend the sleeves but I really like how it looks right now. The...

    The Yarncrafters Thread!

I wanted to make a thread for anybody who knits, crochets, weaves, etc. to talk about and show their projects and patterns!! I'm a crocheter and I've gotten into making sweaters with granny squares. I've made two and I'll try to find some pictures later.

    When I was a child, I thought . . .

My kindergarten teacher told us that turning the light switch on and off in rapid succession would cause a fire. Also the good old 'leaving the overhead light on in the car is illegal'

    What Won't You Write?

Romance as a genre/driving plot point. As a side plot or the setup to some reveal, maybe, but most of the time I don't feel like it's necessary to enhance anything.

    Why do you write?

I write because I like telling stories. Mostly for fun, because I'm actually in school for law!

    Your Writing Feats

Finished writing a 1200-word-ish bonus scene to flesh out two of the antagonists in my book, which I'll probably adapt into the actual manuscript as some video footage of an altercation the main cast reviews. It may not end up being useful at all but it was fun to write, which is all that...

    Day 13: Judgment Day

I'm so happy I decided to try and find the writing forum again after so long! If I had waited any longer it probably would have been a bit harder, lol

What cultures are you familiar with or inspired by?

My efforts have been concentrated in trying to learn more about Jamaican Creole/Patois, because I think it's a really interesting language but my family doesn't really speak it [they've been in the US since the 70s give or take]

What Is One Thing All Your Stories Have In Common?

All of my stories tend to have some elements of found/chosen family! Also usually unpleasant truths/withheld information/secrets that drive the narrative

    What are you working on?

my current WIP is a coming of age story that also has some elements of legal drama worked in due to the POVs [one MC is a detective and the other is the teenage victim in the case he's working turned witness] The characters have been bouncing around in my head forever and I've been recreating...
