I'm so happy I decided to try and find the writing forum again after so long! If I had waited any longer it probably would have been a bit harder, lol

My efforts have been concentrated in trying to learn more about Jamaican Creole/Patois, because I think it's a really interesting language but my family doesn't really speak it [they've been in the US since the 70s give or take]

For me it's mostly Jamaican culture because it's part of my heritage!

All of my stories tend to have some elements of found/chosen family! Also usually unpleasant truths/withheld information/secrets that drive the narrative

my current WIP is a coming of age story that also has some elements of legal drama worked in due to the POVs [one MC is a detective and the other is the teenage victim in the case he's working turned witness] The characters have been bouncing around in my head forever and I've been recreating...
