Brand new here! Hello

I'm very new to this forum, literally learned about it maybe 20 minutes ago. I have dreamed of writing for so long, I even have a book I've been thinking about since I was 12 or 14, which is how I knew I wanted to do this, but I haven't put it to paper because I'm my own worst critic with trust issues. I will start putting it on here and maybe I can get this out of me.
Btw I'm 44, I'm like a child, being able to be a published author makes me giddy, because I cannot get this book written I almost cannot do anything else writing wise.

Hello and welcome, glad to have you here. Your username immediately drew my attention because I have recently come home from a trip to Ireland and was treated to some traditional Irish storytelling at the Leprechaun Museum in Dublin!

That must have been beyond wonderful. I know me if I go to Ireland I'm never coming home

You lost me there. ;)

Writing a book need not be a big mysterious undertaking requiring mystical levels of self-trust. Sit down and write the story to entertain yourself without layering the exercise with complications like the compulsion to publish. Enjoyment first. Business can wait.

I lost me in there too. Lol. It's not even the publishing it's that I will read my word and find it horrible and then I always feel like other people in my life will always sugarcoat or not be exactly poignant with their criticisms. I think a lot of my problem stems from ADHD and the tism.

Yes just writing for writing sake is what I just need to do
