Yes. In 1911, Vincenzo Peruggia (an Italian handyman working in the Louvre) stole the painting from the Louvre Museum in Paris.

The story is hilarious, both for how Peruggia got away with the painting and what he did with it afterwards. Look it up if you enjoy a good laugh.
