Hello everyone! I'm a totally new member, and a young amateur who writes for fun, not really to get published (at least, not right now -- but it would be nice ;D) but just as a hobby, mostly self-publishing to an audience of no one (
) on a neocities website I run -- my main career choice is in something else. I find that fiction-writing in particular helps me process and articulate my emotions and beliefs, especially through my characters. Plus, I have a conception of writing as a way to weave a complex tapestry of insights and themes, which really excites me, and I want to get better at doing that.
I found this place because I realized I really needed to engage with other writers instead of me just toughing it out alone and basically doing guesswork as to whether my writing is good or not
Plus, I feel the experience of writing is made better with other people!
I chose this site over the alternatives because it seems more active and generally more welcoming and less restrictive.
