Howdy from Central Texas

I'm here on day one. I'm going to participate if you can stand me. Which means I'm destined to become one of the Old Ones, yet I feel woefully unprepared.

I have a front porch to sit on, a yard to defend, a neighborhood full of rowdy kids, but I don't have a cane! Where's my cane? And what are those kids doing on my grass?

On a less unhinged note, many thanks for all who further writing communities.

Hey, Madman, I like science fiction, particularly in the styles of Asimov, Heinlein, and Bradbury. Historical fiction can be fun, too.

I like to write about individuals coping with distressing circumstances. Right now, I'm starting on a story about a time when a crumbling economy is propped by propaganda while enemies attack in various ways. Norway fell in WW2 to 800 German troops. Imagine what could be done in any industrialized country with 800 ground attack drones.

The process of writing fascinates me. It's logic, deception, enlightenment, and all things in the human spirit on parade, hopefully for good and not evil. Lately, I've been kicking around a new way to outline. Details for those interested in that particular sort of sociopathy can be found at Third Reef.

Nice to meet you!
