It was in late December of 2024. @Luxuria made PDFs of the story when we were moving and those will have the exact date if she still has them.Does anyone remember what day we started this story? I didn't write it down and I'm not sure how to find it with the old site shut down.
I looked into this and my first entry, based on the file creation date, was made in 28/12/2024. I don't imagine that Luxuria's entry was far off. I have hers but the creation date shows up as 28/02/2026 because of Unix date nonsense.Honestly, I will also be interested to know. But it is certainly around a year and three months old.
By the way, this was actually @IgnitedxSoul's idea. I expanded on it a little with your idea. When you said that Barnabas and Dusca would need to retrieve the fragment of Eros using the love they have for each other, it gave me the idea that the spirits protected them by concepts like this so only good people can retrieve them if there is ever a need. So, Kurai and Melina used a nasty spell to remove it by force, hence Yuuna's anger.the idea of symbols and spells to retrieve fragments gives me an idea for my entry.

Oh, okay. I'm sorry I didn't pick on that. But hey, if we're all in agreement, all is good! The whole thing is a combined idea then.Well, I originally envisioned it as a spell created to protect the fragment, but I think it's way cooler to have it be used to extract the fragment. It gives the emotional aspect of being permitted to remove the fragments a lot more importance, which I like.

That's a genuinely genius way to look at it. It never ever even crossed my mind. We most certainly need to dig into this aspect deeper in the story.I also love the implication here: Melina is the best earth mage in the whole kingdom. Yet she can't take the Gaia fragment because she has no respect for the earth she has domain over. Beautifully poetic
I'm open to it!
How far from Kodoma Abbey are they?
what's stopping Melina from just killing Arthur?
what stops Silas (or any other ghost) from just teleporting to Melina and incapacitating her?
I really, really want to see this scene (hey, this rhymes!)I'd like to write a scene between Melina and the two men she wronged - Arthur and Silas
Do as you wish since Arthur and Silas are your character. I trust that you won't make Melina act out of character. In a previous scene, Arthur did try to convince her to give up her plan, but failed. And we also know he has some hidden desire for revenge on her. Silas, on the other hand, I imagine would take the high road.
Thoughts?
The last time I wrote a scene between Arthur and Melina, they teleported there with Alpha's spirit magic. Melina is likely quite far from Abbey but no concrete current location and destination has been set. It really outta be. I'll do that in my next post if nobody else does.I know Melina is actively trying to find more fragments at Kurai's guidance. Is Arthur following her? How far from Kodoma Abbey are they?
Kurai and Melina aren't fused, so spirit magic for them isn't a thing. Alpha and the society are in full harmony with their spirit and have access to such magic. I know I haven't explored this much but it's been established lore since very early.I believe it's basically established that the spirits are capable of teleporting not only themselves but others as well. So would Silas just warp Arthur there? Why doesn't Kurai just warp Melina to the next fragment? (Or am I misunderstanding several scenes as teleporting when they aren't?)
The answer is... it's easier said than done. You can teleport to her all you want, but she'd just sink you to the ground, or crush you in an earthly coffin. She isn't known as the best earth mage for no reason. To add to that, I've introduced in the last couple of posts that Melina as a mage is quite different. I will explore more of that when the time is right. And given what we've seen of the ghosts abilities to manipulate others (giving them visions, subduing them, even teleporting them(?)) what stops Silas (or any other ghost) from just teleporting to Melina and incapacitating her?
Yes, and also that. She is now in possession of the Gaia fragment, so she is already even more powerful than she was before.I think the answer to that last question is Kurai and the Fragment all giving Melina more than enough power to withstand/overcome any effort of the ghosts or other spirits to affect her.
That's a good question. Honestly, when I was writing that scene, I didn't feel that Melina herself would feel the need to eliminate Arthur. She doesn't feel the slightest bit threatened by him. It's why I wrote her to act so comfortably, but I wrote Alpha to act rather nervously. I hope that got through anyway...Also, what's stopping Melina from just killing Arthur?
She probably shouldn't. She already claimed the fragment of Cliffcross so I'd imagine she'd be on her way to the next one, even if we haven't defined that. The world is growing cold so she'd want to move as fast as possible since at least for the moment, she, too, is bound by mortality.I can have Melina arrive there
She probably shouldn't.
By the way, I loved your questions @IgnitedxSoul. I totally welcome those anytime. We all miss things so pointing them out is the right thing to do. I'd obviously rather keep the story as plot hole free as possible! But we also have to remember that this is essentially the equivalent of a first draft, so problems are bound to exist, and that's okay. At the end of the day, we're just having fun—I hope!
