We are sad to see @Luxuria have to bow out of the "It Began In a Tavern" roleplay.

We've been diligently working on this story for quite some time, and I am really proud of it. Not to mention, I really want to see how it ends! We've come up with Olive as our main character, and she is hurtling towards a destiny that will change the world!

I am making this appeal to any interested - will you please join us to help us complete this story? You don't have to read all the entries in the official story, just the last few, (but feel free to read the entries from the old site!) and a look at the out-of-character (OOC) thread will provide a lot of information, too.

@ps102 and myself will help you in any way we can to get you into the story. We'll answer all your questions.

How long would the post take you? If you can get it done relatively quickly, we can pass the next turn to me, then to @IgnitedxSoul. This will allow us to get more total posts for this month, which we really need because of the little activity there has been since July.

For context, in July, we only made four entries. I made the last post on July 23rd, so we're approaching a month now without a post.

I love your posts to this so I look forward to whatever it is! Since you're asking to make a post, you must have something good in mind.

Araspeth and her guards proceeded at a canter through the greenwood, providing ample time for reflection. With spite, Araspeth thought—Gamma was no better than Cassandra.

Cassandra, the ruler of the southern peninsula, had turned her back on her daughter, Olive, just as Gamma had betrayed Araspeth. Not all were made to be mothers. Araspeth wished she could shake off the insidious effect of her mother’s disapproval, but only bold action could provide relief, and at the same time put Gamma in her place.

Dusk approached and they came upon a small, shady clearing in the forest. Araspeth was...

He never liked Araspeth, but in this case I think he acted more in favour of Dusca than against Araspeth. He couldn't let Araspeth take her.

I'm working on my post. I've decided to focus on Melina's past because it provides some important context for her character and her goals.

You might notice that it's a bit longer than you're used to. That's because it's 2,000 words. I'll be raising the upper limit to that. It's not very long and we have the potential to squeeze more words out of the month that way so we can finish faster. That's especially important now that there is only three of us, meaning less posts every month.

Of course, the minimum remains 300 words, and you do not have to write any more than this to make a post

New post made. Sorry I took this long, but I had to think of ways to move the plot forward to the midpoint. To remind everyone, the midpoint is where Olive and the others fail spectacularly, so we're finally getting there now.

By the way, so far, we've written 48k words and 53 posts total. I think a good target word count is 85k words. Our average word count per post is now 911 words. Since we've written 48,296, it would take another 36,704 words to finish this. The average is 911 like I said, meaning that we need another 41 posts to finish (36,704 / 911 = 40.28...).

Those are all estimates and not at all absolute. We could do less or more. It's just nice to do a bit of math every once in a while to see where we're at.
