Hi, everyone! 
Mel here, and I'm happy to have joined the forum! I was familiar with the site a long time ago (I mainly lurked), so it was quite jarring to see the new changes. But I'm glad the forum survived the Great Filter, lol.
Like many of you here, I'm an aspiring author. I'm currently writing the first draft of my epic fantasy novel (just reached 12k words!) which I hope to finish within a year. I'm also in my last year of university, so it's been tricky trying to balance classes, IRL obligations, and my writing. Nonetheless, I'm still trudging along and trusting more on the progress I've made than the idea of perfection. It's been hard, but I'm pretty proud of being able to overcome that (slowly, of course!)
I hope to make writerly connections here and enjoy the positives of a writing community! I'm happy to answer any questions you folks might have, and I look forward to meeting you all!
