Procrastination...

Sorry to hear that. Have you got any techniques for regaining the focus you want/need or do you just push through?
To be honest I really don't try to force myself. It seems that everything works out in the end. If I get stuck on a part I don't stress and just set it aside because it will come to at some point. I really enjoy the story but there are a lot of fight scenes and that is my weak spot as a writer so I tend to put it off.

But now that I am done with my novel I will devote more time to the story.

That's admirably zen of you :D

Are you going to have a go at the Fourth contest this month? I'm watching that one with a lot of curiosity: I've never written a fight scene.

I know I am going to do the short story contest. I am starting that story today. But as for the fourth contest I may pass on that because my fight scenes are the weakest part of my writing and I don't feel I can give the contest justice.

I'm guilty of procrastinating because I want to play some games instead of writing. And wires in my brain also keep crossing. I cannot listen to music while writing or I will want to go mess with MIDI stuff or play my violin, for example. At least it's exploitable. If I want to trick myself into writing, all I have to do is start playing a game and have my text-to-speech read my text to me. It won't be long before I'll be annoyed the story abruptly cuts and I'll want to go add more to it so I have more to enjoy while I game. Sometimes I'll have my violin in my hands and wonder how I ended up there because my plan was to be drawing something.
