I doubt my fantasy series is going to get traditionally published, so I suspect one day I might be renting space at cons selling printed copies of my book.
I'm working on the map, and it's getting a little frustrating to try to keep everything clear and legible while also being something that can print in black and white.
So I'm wondering if it could be printed in color. Just one page near the front, (or maybe a couple random pages elsewhere in the book, depending on what costs look like.) Maybe full color, or if its an option just adding a single color tone or two.
Now I've certainly seen some "real" books that have just a couple pages inside it somewhere that are full color or even just partial color while the rest of the book is black and white. But I'm not so sure if this is something commonly done if I try to self-publish and get a small number of books printed. Those printing services are usually all or nothing; past the cover every page is black and white or every page is in color. At least, the ones that I was looking into many years ago were that way.
