I haven't used Grinder's search function, but Duotrope's is excellent, I can find in an instant, open venues interested in the genre I want, and the payment bracket I am interested in.

I also subscribe to Authors Publish and Sub Club. They often provide me with new magazines I'd never even heard of, and pay decently to boot.
Nice! I subscribe to Authors Publish too, and they're great. I did not know about Sub Club, so I'll subscribe to them as well. Thanks!

I'm still waiting to hear from AHMM., despite sending two inquiries. The story was sent on 2nd January this year.
That's a long time and with no response from inquiries. I'd chalk it up as a non-reply rejection and move on.
I knew about Sub Club but not Authors Publish. Authors Publish is really great, thanks for informing me.

I accept it's been rejected, but It is strange though such a major publication like that does not even answer emails.
People are currently waiting 350-450 days for a response on average.

Got a 41-day form letter from Ghoulish Tales, and a quick 1-day from that new magazine Neon & Smoke.
It was a very nice personalized rejection, and they loved it right up til the end. They did not "get" the twist ending! I thought it was very obvious, so I am a little shocked. I seriously considered reaching out to them to explain as there's got to be a chance they'd respond with something like OH DUH haha ok we'll publish it. But I restrained myself.
Up to 131 now.
