Roleplay Interest Thread (2025)

here is what I will include in the rules:

There is to be no reference or allusion to current world politics. This is a made-up world. Let’s concentrate on the big ideas.
I would add what I wrote as well. Because using characters as a mouthpiece is something that happens. Being specific is best. I think if you added:

There is to be no reference or allusion to current world politics nor any using characters as a mouthpiece to espouse political views. This is a made-up world, etc.

Anyone interested in a time loop mystery Roleplay? It could also be horror. But I am very into time resets stories lately.

I'm involved in three roleplays right now, so thanks for the invitation but I won't be able to be in any more.

But a time-loop mystery sound awesome!

I am in two, so I feel you. I am glad it sounds awesome. I just don’t know how the loop starts and how big it is. A day? Two weeks?

That's something you can decide once you have your players.

it will be a challenge writing such a story collaboratively, but we love a challenge!

That’s what I am trying to figure out. I may be better as a personal story. Because keeping information/ events the same in a group is hard.

I also think making it one day could be fun. Like picking a holiday (not groundhog day) and the something goes wrong. Then, time resets. I think Christmas or Halloween could be fun. The main issue is not solving the story too fast or whatever.

Awesome! And haha, I did Email RP with a former friend of mine ages ago, too. It's always such fun. And yeah! I'd love to have you in the group. Would you be interested in also participating and/or running a game?

Good to know. Would everyone like me to make a poll? (If that's possible?) Then, we can see which genres people are most interested in and go from there.
Apologies! I must have missed the notification that I had a reply.

I had thought about creating my own, though depending on how many new stories are started I might just wait it out. Don't want to overwhelm everyone.

No worries! There is a lot happening on this forum.

And yes! Please make your own. As of right now, we only have 2 games. One that is a Legacy Story, so new people can't join. So, we need more stories for players. :)

Anyone interested in an Anime fanfic Roleplay? I know so many anime and want to also write a fanfic together.

Any interest for a Sci-Fi roleplay?

I've got this idea rolling around in my brain about an RP in a Cyberpunk-Fantasy fusion setting, maybe with a bit of space opera in it as well. Think the Shadowrun tabletop game (but not focused on a squad of rag-tag mercenaries). I'm also open to a different title (because the current one was just something I came up with in 30 seconds).

Roleplay Name: Chronicles of Elidel

Roleplay Genre: Cyberpunk-Fantasy, Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Slice-of-Life

Roleplay GM: Whiskii

Setting:
In Elidel, a walled megacity on the fictional planet of Akyros, a once Earth-like planet ravaged by both arcane and chemical pollution.

The city of Elidel has hundreds of levels, ascending high into Akyros's murky skies and extending deep into the depths of the planet's crust. With a landscape encompassing a messy amagalmation of various Human and Non-Human architectural styles built over millennia, the city is an almost-nauseating sight to behold.

Elidel sustains their population on a combination of galactic food imports and magically-shielded agriculture facilities outside the city's walls.

Only the city's elite live in luxury above the clouds, while the rest of society can only dream of such a life. The deeper you go into the city's bowels, the worse life becomes.

Recreational drugs and cybernetics are commonplace among the ordinary populace. But in a city so massive, it is impossible to record every single new drug or cybernetic enhancement on the street (and it's not like the ruling elite care very much).

Magic is both an uncontrollable force of nature, and a daily necessity. Magic is worked into much of the city's bloated infrastructure, with the most obvious example being Elidel's monstrous city-wide train system — reliant on massive teleportation portals powered by the screams of a thousand dying wind sprites to get trains through the city.

More lore (on races and such) will be posted in the bigger Lore thread. I'd love to see how people fuse tech and magic together and develop the world. Go nuts!

Basic Story Lore:
Elidel is not short on conflict. Whether it's petty street fights to full inter-species turf wars, death is often a part of life.

But this city is also full of stories. Where do your characters stand in this world? Will they choose to fight for a better life, or try to escape the confines of their wretched existence in more ways than one?

Or maybe they will try to escape the city altogether by taking a risk in the wasteland beyond the city's walls. Rumours are being whispered, about there being other smaller cities in the magic-torn wastes, far from the crushing realities of life in Elidel and rife with opportunity. But those who made a run for it never returned to tell the tale.

After all, why would they?

(The plot is intended to be slice-of-life, and if the players choose, adventure-filled. It's rather open-ended at the moment and the setting has a lot of potential for many mundane adventures.)

Number of Players wanted (minimum of 3): 3-6

Roleplay Specific Rules:

Keep real-life politics out, even if this game has the working class standing up to the oppressive elite. However, politics within the confines of this fictional world is encouraged (such as a Elf-supremacist group, or a Rights-for-Sprites movement). Have fun with it!

To be expanded upon in the OOC thread.
