So, what about scriptwriting?

I came here to ask questions about filmmaking and scriptwriting. How is cinema industry works, how to get a job in that sphere? Is higher education needed or portfolio? A lot of question in my head blown me up after my understanding about myself. I wanna be film director or scriptwriter, but absolutely don't know about this sphere. And my first question is - will I able to get answers there or this forum not for them?

If you need more details, maybe about my writing story - I'll give it to you, but now I have told everything briefly.

we're for all forms of writing... there isnt a specific script board yet because we're still setting this place up having migrated from another board a couple of months ago.. for now ask in general writing discussions and if you want to workshop scripts do it under 'fiction', as content builds we'll create more boards to accomodate it

Hello and welcome! Have a beer...

Like Moose said, start a thread and see what it solicits. I wrote many scripts back in the day so I have some knowledge about that. My main jam was a cartoon about a rock band that got into all sorts of debauched adventures. I have a cousin who's an artist and we're both guitar players, so he would draw stuff, I would write scripts, and both of us would write and record their songs. I wrote at least 15 thirty minute scripts. Maybe more. A lot of them were based off Ozzy stories (RIP). Instead of biting the head off a live bat, I had the singer do it to a squid. But the squid turned the tables on the singer, going face-hugger from Alien on him. And instead of pissing on the Alamo, I had the drummer poop on the Statue of Liberty's foot. You get the idea....

Welcome. The little I know about screenwriting is from a class I took, which was mostly about understanding the three-act structure. That was umpteen years ago. I still format my short stories to script which gives me a different perspective.
I spent a lot of time at 20th Century Fox when my father-in-law worked there, and he took me to a room that had half a dozen young people who read scripts all day. Beside them were boxes that would fill a pallet to toss in the bin. To get in the door back then, you had to know someone. There were a lot of screenwriting cliques in LA, but I didn't fit into any of them.
