Since you have a bit to catch up on, we'll extend your window for your entry a couple of days, as you get familiar with the story and the characters.

Nervous about what he might uncover, Shan hurried through the forest. He kept a steady pace, but it was more like wading through a stream in winter—propelled forward but affected by the chill. He might meet great favor, or he might meet great calamity. But he could not worry about consequences now. He only knew he had to take possession of the clockwork heart.

He emerged to the clearing centered by the pyramidal stone cairn that hid the polished brass timepiece which had been ticking for God knows how long. He stopped short, as he was not alone. Two old men stood there. With implacable...

Just a quick recap of some of the things my post outlined -

We have our triad -

Shan (Chinese) = Great Earth … has the mechanical heart (related to hidden wisdom)

Tala (American Indigenous) = Voice of the Salt Sea … has the mechanical owl (related to depth/memory)

Rennie (Scottish) = Storm Wind … has the mechanical gun (related to movement/action)

They will have to somehow work together to accomplish/create “The One” that can prevail over Tobias Locke

They will be assisted by the Immortal Brothers of the Mountains -

New entry is posted! A bit long, but I wanted to focus on Tala's inner world and her frustration and fearfulness with the possibility of losing Cedarheart. She feels helpless and homesick and wants nothing more than for her friend to be healed and herself again.

Then a surprise visit from a certain Scottish immortal boyband member at the end.

Absolutely beautiful! I was completely absorbed in the prose and loved the close up with Tala! And the new visitor!!

So exciting!

Username said he had Covid weeks ago, and has not communicated anywhere here since then. So, for now, I suggest his turn is skipped. If he is still interested, he can write next round, so it's not a big deal.

Louanne goes after Username. But she also won't be here for the next six days so I suggest you swap her with @ellekaldwin. The idea is writing continues while she's unable to write.

Then after Louanne's turn, everything can go back to normal. I can't know what will happen with Username but Louanne can handle it when she returns. I'm just offering advise here because stalling is not ideal. The best thing to do though is agree among the two of you since your GM isn't here atm.

Louanne will come back in five days, so unless you go through multiple turns during those five days, then I doubt you'll be pinging back and forth. The idea is to minimize disruption and stalling.

If @buttercream is okay with it, then you'll be up next. Hopefully by the time you finish your entry, Louanne will have returned and the rounds will go back to normal

You're welcome. But just a note—I'm not letting you know what should happen. I'm not your GM. But since she is not here ATM, I'm just providing suggestions for an adjusted turnaround to avoid unnecessary waiting. Certainly, it would be quite weird for it to be Louanne's turn when we know she won't be here for the next few days.

So, if you agree, that's great. I know this is all kind of weird but I'm optimistic that things will return as they were !

I don't see why you couldn't. There aren't too many posts to catch up on. But the GM has the final word on this, of course.

I'm sure Louanne will be happy to have you. These are quite fun, and it isn't a massive commitment. You write 1-2 posts per month.

While you wait for her return, I suggest reading the current posts to catch up and see whether it's something you like. It's received a bit more content since the binge read I did on December, but that didn't really take me more than an afternoon's time to do. It is genuinely quite an intriguing story! The writers here have done an amazing job.

The official decision will have to wait for Louanne, but it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and start developing your character/s.
