This is the thread where you post visual artwork you made. It can be of characters or illustrations from your stories, or not related to your writing at all. Also, no AI generations.

Anyway, I'll start with some artwork I made in Clip Studio Paint that's related to my short story "The Nkisi of Nkongolo" in the workshop.

Luwi-the-Hyena-Mistress.jpg

Our heroine Luwi and her two hyena companions.

Luwi-Attacks-the-Confederates.jpg

Luwi versus the Confederates!

Whilst we investigate file-size limits, can I ask that members host their pictures somewhere like Imgur or Flickr and post links on this thread? That way you can post hi-def pictures without stretching our data limits - this is principally a writing forum not a hosting site!

If you click on the Insert Image icon, the little box that appears is tabbed and has an option for entering a URL as well as the upload image facility.

Ah, sorry, I can remove the image if you want? I tried linking it via my Facebook page, but it said something like "The specified URL cannot be embedded as media." I tried both to copy the link address and copying the link, same message.

Leave it for now - we are discussing policy moving forward; it's just that a link is about 100 bytes whereas the image is 10Mb, which takes up approximately 1,000,000 times as much space...!

"The specified URL cannot be embedded as media" - were you clicking on the "insert image" icon or "media"? (they look very similar to my old eyes)

It may also be that we can't link to your facebook page without logging into facebook

I clicked on the media icon. It's probably as you say, that the link doesn't work without logging in. Though, I have the image and post uploaded as public. Oh well.

Ha - I am going to break my own request and paste a screenshot (but it's only 5kb...)

try clicking on the image icon, and selecting the URL tab (be interested to see if it works...); it should be okay if the picture is public?

you can also do it manually by right clicking on a picture on another site then putting it inside img brackets, like this

Code:
 [img]https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRLnPYWXNyIWqTK5o29-1ys_fs9PwjSxZ-tGBwBlgX9BRD1JUP7UB9bQ3dDrZJAI1VBY0T_qAyRRFiNuksyCXA-cQ [/img]
which leads to

images

Be aware of where your lnk to though, good legit mainstream sites help us build good seo... links to sketchy sites harm it
