Today I learned...

My Alice in Chains playlist has only three Alice in Chains songs on it, just added some Dry Kill Logic( kingdom of the blind).

Today I learned about a town that would make a great setting for a story. Colma, California was founded as a necropolis in 1924.

Currently, it has a living population of around 1,500, and a dead population topping 1.5 million. This has led to Colma being called "the City of the Silent" and has given rise to the motto, formerly featured on the city's website: "It's great to be alive in Colma"

I'm suddenly picturing a zombie apocalypse, and Colma as the epicentre. Don't know why.

Rotten Apple
In a Nutshell
Down in a Hole

They have a number of good songs but those speak to me the most. Might add your decision now that I think about it.

Three good ones. My favourite, from what I remember of Alice, is "Rooster".

They have a lot of good songs though. Going through Black Gives Way to Blue after a long time without listening and When the Sun Rose Again has become a favorite.

Logitech mice are pretty sturdy. I'm not having a very good day, and have dropped mine for the 5th time. Today. It is remarkably unharmed.

Going outside the box a bit:

Over Now
Sunshine
Love Hate Love

Them Bones is probably my favorite guitar song to play. It's in 7/4 and feels like 4 followed by a 3, unlike Pink Floyd's Money, which is also 7/4, but feels like 3 followed by a 4.

Solid songs for sure. Can't go wrong with AIC in general.

Jar of Flies has a specific kind of vibe though, at least for me. Meditative/surreal.

Today I learned that blindness provides some kind of protection against schizophrenia.

No person born blind has ever been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

I didn't read your article, but it makes sense if you think about it. In people who are born blind the visual cortex gets used to support other senses. If you've never seen anything before, you don't have a visual data bank to produce hallucinations, which are one of the key aspects of schizophrenia. It is equally important to note that it doesn't mean blind people can't have other forms of psychosis.

Today I learned how important it is to keep a straight face, keep going, and accept an unusual guest gracefully. Take a look:
