Tying up Plot Holes!

I finished my long time WIP a few days ago and havent touched or opened it (letting it sit for a bit). But I've still been thinking about it and think i have 2 plot holes?

The end takes place a year later. my MCs have left the village and now live on a little farm about have a day's journey outside of the village. They have a cozy little life there, and Olun occasionally goes back to visit, but otherwise stays clear. neither MCs trust the villager anymore and are happy to be living away from it.
  • Plot hole 1: Oluns whole thing is family and community and not wanting to leave all that behind.... but she does? Earlier, it was "i must save my family!" then it became "I dont want to leave my new family!" and now its "i dont want to be here anymore" (i actually think i came up with a fix for this as I type this post out)
  • Plot hole 2: Didan promises his brother on his deathbed that he'd look out for his daughter and make sure his wife was cared for.... but then he leaves the village (including his infant niece and sister-in-law that he promised to look after) behind?

Regarding nr 2. Can they come and live with Didan and Olun? Maybe in a hut/house on the property?
I thought about that too... but it didnt seem like it would fit.
the sister-in-law doesnt have an issue with the village or her other family (her late husbands parents and kid brother) that the 2 MCs have. Why would she leave the safety and comfort behind? why would she take her daughter away from her grandparents and uncle?

Hmm, alright. I haven't read your book, so may not be able to help very well. But are there spells or does there exist items that are considered protective or sacred? Maybe Didan can give them a protective talisman or something?

Or, maybe he can arrange for someone he knows to protect them and report to him?

Perhaps Olun can check in on them from time to time when she visits the village and if there's any problem, she can mention it to Didan? Or perhaps Didan can send them things via Olun when she visits?

ooooh! I like this!
this sparked an idea, thanks!

also, this seems like the more practical option 😅 (why didnt i think of this??)
