When I was a child, I thought . . .

Once, when I was young, I saw guys jump out of a SWAT van, guns, vests, and all. From that day on, whenever I saw a UPS truck, I expected the "army guys" to jump out the back of it. I was convinced that this happened all the time and that the neighborhood was filled with vans of army guys hunting robbers.

It would be cool if they did (though undeniably scary). Like the modern version of the childhood game, "Cowboys and Indians".

When I was a child, I used to think you didn't stop growing and would worry about my head hitting the subway station ceiling. Don't ask me why I didn't make the connection that adults went through the station just fine. 🤷‍♀️

When I was a child, my greatest goal when reaching maturity was to be able to mix up a bowl of cake frosting and eat the whole thing.
