The main characters are backpackers, so I use my normal voice - however there is one line from an Aussie in it and I try and do the accent 😅 Editor got back to me very quickly after doing some studio magic. It sounds great! A couple warm days here with rain and almost all the snow is gone...

I think the recording I took on my second take is okay. The mic is quite good at its job; no outside noise, no pop. I'm only a bit concerned about my audible breathing, and I wonder if I read it too slowly. I don't mind doing a few more takes, but let's see what the editor thinks first.

It just so happens that last year I bought a decent mic to use for online karaoke. It's got a pop filter and it seems to work well !

Just tried recording a flash story that will be on Australian radio and a podcast next month, but even while completely alone I am somehow self-conscious about it. Very silly. I'll give it another shot this evening after I've deposited a few alcoholic drinks.

It took me 21 hours to drive from back home to here when I had to move. I took many breaks as I was alone (except for Mittens), but with a crew you can probably do it in 16 hours with some effort. All within the province of Ontario !
