    One thing I noticed about older sci-fi stories and anime: Why did they often call planet Earth 'Terra', but modern sci-fi is moving away from the Terra word and just calling it Earth again?

    Terra is latin for earth, ground, etc. The Roman Goddess of the Earth is also Terra (the Greek equivalent, Gaia). As to why they're going away from it - no idea.

    'Terran' is the word often used to describe an Earthling in older sci-fi.

    Maybe the people who make these shows are moving away from 'Terra' because they think that no-one will know what 'Terra' means? *shrug* No idea otherwise.

    So when I was in late 00's light blue eyes were thought to be 'angelic', why did that idealism fade out in modern times? It's just something I noticed over time, xD

    I have blond hair and, not light blue, but blue eyes, and I am far from angelic... *devil smiley*

    Did not know that was a trope. Why was it considered angelic?

    I've always thought grey or silver irises are very cool and nice.

    It was considered naive, really... malleable. That's why it was desirable. The dumb blond thing. It was annoying as hell (said as blond with blue eyes). I actually dyed mine red for the majority of my life just to get away from it lol.
