You know, in retrospect I'm just not always that good at telling people apart. I have this problem in person, too.
I thought Luxuria was male and in the other thread it said 'she'. Luxuria could be more female name though, unless they were joking around.I thought Also and Amontillado where the same person until I saw them in the same thread recently.
But I also briefly thought Luxuria was Tallyfire with a new profile pic.

We're a week away from birthday cake, so I'm kicking this back into the discussion... what would it involve? For purely selfish reasons, I'd like to see a reintroduction thread combined with "what I did during my first year with WF." I lose track of folks who frequent threads other than those I visit and would welcome a cybergathering of all fellow travelers on the WF plane of existence. Kinda the Rainbow Tribe Annual Gathering without the colorful costumes or round robin sex.
How about a short written interview with people who have published something during the period of our first year? Could be a format to the interview with the same questions, and of course, we need willingAnd any other ideas?
Maybe a heading that says, Reintroduction Thread and instructions in the first thread to please remind fellow travellers who is accompanying them on this journey through time and cyberspace? Things like I'm Catriona and she's Catrin?...what would it involve?
I think this is a cool idea. What if we award members who did exceptionally well at something? I know the tradition with the old forum is: medals are only for contest wins, but we aren't the old forum anymore.Nominating other members for completely fake awards [invented by the nominator] might be a fun template for that, but I suppose that could come across as cringeworthy.
Forgot to address that one... I really don't think it's "cringe". It would only be if it's implemented in a stupid way.but I suppose that could come across as cringeworthy.
That works too. I was thinking something so incredibly informal that it doesn't even leave the thread, nor go beyond a nomination.Forgot to address that one... I really don't think it's "cringe". It would only be if it's implemented in a stupid way.
.com actually does this with purple patches. Members who distinguish themselves in some way receive one. There are countless users, but only something like 256 of those medals have been awarded.
On that note, awards really can help with motivation. That's why the video game industry came up with achievements in the first place. They help give the player goals to work towards.
