Name: Garrun Vale
Age: 41
Role in the March (Guard, Scholar, Scout, Engineer, Civilian, etc.): Guard – Vanguard Captain
Physical Description:
Tall and broad-shouldered, Garrun moves with deliberate control. His dark hair is cut short but threaded with early gray. A long scar cuts from his temple to his jaw. His armor is salvaged and uneven, reinforced in places with hammered iron plates. He carries a weathered longsword across his back and keeps his gauntlets on almost constantly.
Backstory:
Garrun once served as a garrison commander in the capital city of Knuckle before the Day of Reasoning, when the Hollow Sovereign purged the city of life. He survived, though he rarely speaks of the details. After the collapse of organized resistance and the rise of the World-Poisons, Garrun joined a caravan of survivors that would later become the March. Over time, his discipline and tactical awareness placed him at the front lines of its outer defenses.
Personality:
Measured, observant and guarded. Garrun speaks only when necessary and believes survival depends on restraint rather than heroics. He struggles to understand optimism but protects it fiercely in others.
Strengths:
• Experienced battlefield tactician
• Strong physical endurance
• Calm under pressure
• Deep loyalty to the March
Flaws:
• Carries unresolved guilt from Knuckle
• Slow to trust newcomers
• Overprotective of civilians
• Emotionally distant
Other Information:
He keeps a fragment of blackened stone from Knuckle in a pouch at his belt. He claims it reminds him what happens when walls fail.
