Day 311: Anyone doing NaPoWriMo this year?

NaPoWriMo

I've completed it a few times and managed partial participation many more and always find something new or interesting in the trying. At best, I'll probably manage a handful of days this year but I'm going to try... anyone else?

I've never PoWri anything before, but if there's enough interest, we could do it here? NWT did well last year...

Sounds like you've just volunteered yourself to try it this year! I've NoWried a couple of times but lose interest too fast but PoWri keeps me coming back. I like the prompts and seeing how different people interpret them, especially when there's a form to manipulate. It'd be nice to have a bit of community to come to though and check in with people each day.

If others are interested, I don't see why not. I guess we'd just make an area and everyone can start their own thread and post their poem daily poem. Or every few days or whatever. I can wire the threads so they can't be responded to if needed. If not, people will be jumping in for critique just like with The Showcase.

Let's see how much interest there is. I'm not a poet but there are plenty here. We've got about a week and it won't take more than a few minutes to set up.

There is an official site -

Whether you’re just learning about Na/GloPoWriMo or returning for the umpteenth time, the idea is simple: Write a poem a day for the month of April. That’s thirty days, thirty poems. That’s the only rule! (And if you break it, remember — there are no poetry police. No one will come hunt you down. It’s fine. This is all for fun!)

To help you along, we’ll be posting a prompt every day through the month, along with a special “early-bird” prompt on March 31, to help tide over all those on the other side of the international date line from Na/GloPoWriMo headquarters, and for whom April begins a few hours earlier than it does here in Maine, USA.

Could put a subforum into the poetry forum with a pinned general post explaining what it is and then yes, people could set up their own threads to post each day within that. I, personally, would keep it open to comments on the understanding that people are posting drafts, effectively.

But yeah, see if there's interest 😁
