A film thread: Is anyone else tired of superhero flicks? (Warning - includes Norse myth spoilers) ;-)

Perhaps he is mentioned by many screenwriters, but he is all about monomyth. It can apply to all storytelling.

Eh. I didn't feel especially more enlightened after reading the book, nor did it affect my storytelling. Mileage varies, though. It's worth a try.

Though it is how I learned about Sticky-Hair the Ogre (translations vary on his title), which still brings me immense joy whenever it crosses my mind. Here's someone's sort of pieced-together rendition of it:
I didn't read Campbell's book in detail but I was interested in the concept of the hero's journey (monomyth) and I analyzed few films according to the structure points described, agree that it can apply to many films, perhaps other forms od storytelling too. Before that I knew about Aristotle's three part structure and Freytag's five act structure but I still sometimes forget about it when writing. The story you posted, fun read and liked the picture. There could be variations of it around the world.
