Day 311: Anyone doing NaPoWriMo this year?

I've done NaPoem multiple times. Last year was actually the first time I didn't participate in almost a decade. We were also working through some major changes at home. We had lost Rue Dog in October 2024 and I randomly decided to foster a rescue Aussie I named Basse in April 2025.

Basse foster failed and has settled into life with us so I have a bit more time now.

I think the only wrinkle here would be that each member's thread be wired to not accept responses. Anybody who want critique can put the poem in the Workshop once April has concluded. If we don't forbid responses, the threads are likely to inadvertently become cluttered with critique. Makes sense, right?

Wonder if the forum member @Tallyfire would like this challenge, she suggested the previous one, I've never heard of it before.
Believe it or not, I wrote and edited my first poem in years yesterday. Total coincidence. I'd never heard of NaPoWriMo before this thread.

Count me in! I need something fun to do.

I think everyone just creates their own thread and post poems each day or every other day or whatever. It's not a competition or anything.
Sounds good to me. A general (separate) discussion thread to go, "wow!" or whatever to people's poems or discuss the prompt of the day would be nice too.

I tagged here with the @name function so she'd see it.
The tag didn't work in retrospect, btw. I never got a ping. Just stumbled onto this thread and was surprised to see myself mentioned.

The poems I posted around here were mostly in my native language and I translated them afterwards, for NaPoWriMo I'd be writing directly in English. I'll probably join the challenge too but don't know how often I'll post the poems, and they'll be something like haiku. Good to see you're writing here again!
