Feedback On Cover Design

I originally leaned in favor of the blurred line, but after thinking it over, the stark line sets off both illustration and title more efficiently than the blurred line.

I really like the second cover better, because I like the sand border between the title section and the cover image. I would however, move the title a smidge, maybe 5 points to the right away from the spine. Because 'Children of Sacrifice' isn't directly above. It looks a bit misaligned, not quite right. I like the color scheme a lot and think gold/purple looks great. I would say however, that the font is a little too BOLD for the title. I think maybe if you bring down the opacity and blend it more with the background color, it might feel more natural. I would also advise putting the blurb on the back when working on the cover so you can get a feel for the words. Because I know sometimes I begin to typeset and the font is not right. Haha. Anyway, the cover looks pretty and you should be proud for being at this stage of writing. It's truly awesome.

Another version!
I did find another font that was similar to the font I used for my name, but the 'G' looks more like a G!

I also tried it without the purple background behind the title. After removing the background, the gold text (to me) seemed to blend in with the yellow/gold of the illustration, so I changed it to silver. I kind of like how it stands out from the background.
(Thoughts?)

The covers for part 2 and 3 follow the same color scheme and illustration style, so whatever I change/use on here has to fit the other covers for consistency purposes

Just me own thoughts of course, but the design thingy going over the mouth looks a bit odd, like it's a gag or something. Everything else looks tip-top. The text pops. Maybe the series name could be a font size or two larger?

I also vote silver. There are too many other colours similar to the gold text on the cover.

Great cover. The silver text definitely is much better. Sets it apart from the other design elements. I like the separator as well, but I too see it as a gag. I was a fan of the sand border on the original second cover.

What everyone sees as a gag I'm seeing as a moustache. Think the first ones you posted are better - the second set of hands I'm not sure about, especially in the later version you posted. Reminds me of the Shrike in Hyperion 🙃

I'm wondering if it appears to be a mouth gag because the character already has his eyes covered... see no evil, speak no evil. I guess you can't see his ears either, so it may be a psychological perception thing.
