Absolutely had to post this:

Haha. This is crazy. I was at my favorite restaurant tonight, and everyone at the bar was talking about this video. I didn't see it yet, but when I looked at my writing forum, there it was! Funny how my different worlds collide. My sister lives in Canada, and she and @Set2Stun are the only two Jays fans I know right now. She's not really a sports fan, but when I asked her if people still talked about Joe Carter's homer, she said it was like a positive JFK memory. Where were you when....

Oh yeah, we all know that one. Touch 'em all, Joe !

I remember when we got the Microsoft Encarta CD for the home computer way back in the day. A short video clip on a computer? Wow, the future is crazy! Watched that one over and over again, though I first witnessed the event through a tube TV on rabbit ears.

I think this team has a decent shot at not only the Pennant, but the World Series. Let's go !

I'm having the family over on Sunday, it should be a pretty nice day, around 20 C, and we're eating outside. I have a huge covered patio. Then, we are going to sit around the bonfire!

On Monday (Thanksgiving day), five of us adventurous women are going for another e-bike tour through wine country!

Not to defend Louanne - and certainly not to piss off the boss of the place - but I feel compelled to point out the digs being rained down on Canadian wine are a little unfair. Perhaps that's because I'm from Ireland, where the closest we come to vintage is 6-month-old poteen, but I've toured that part of the world and it's beautiful. The wine is too, I'm told by my missus and various seemingly responsible in-laws.

Anyway, needless to say Homer Potvin, owner, good person I'm sure, with all respect due... the surname of your username is Potvin. In French, literally meaning "Pot of Wine". The forename is Homer - doh!

Many images come to mind, many involving Barney and a certain bar, but none of them involving a sommelier.

All in good spirit and jest - your Irish friend.
:)

You will have to try much harder than that. My stance on Canadian wine--or any other viticultural area that does not have viable climate--is purely professional as a purveyor of wine and an educator of wine things. And I will go to the grave denouncing the practice of attempting wine production in climate zones that have no business doing do. It's not Canada's fault. It's the weather.
