The easiest thing to do would be to call up your provider and say you've found far better deals and are looking to cancel. Even their first offer is going to be pretty good I imagine. But you can talk them down by providing real examples of better deals from other providers that you can find in a few minutes on the ole Google. And of course you can just switch, but then you need a tech to visit and all that.

$100 US is what, ~$75 Canadian? Probably equivalent when corrected for wages and taxes. My sister has been kn Canada for 25 years and we've figured everything is about the same price in the apples to oranges sense.

I don't know if we have anything but unlimited data plans anymore. Most people don't have a PC anymore and do everything on their phone.

More expensive in Canada. Mostly from taxes. Alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis are heavily regulated and taxed. Plenty of everyday items are pricier as well due to higher transport costs - not just the more expensive gas, but there are often looong distances between cities.

It used to be fairly common for Canadians to do shopping runs across the border to get stuff for cheap. In the times before you got the Cheeto in Chief.

To hear my sister tell it, the social benefits of the higher taxes were worth it 25 years ago but not so much now. Health care in particular, but I wouldn't know.

My niece that got diagnosed with cancer is getting excellent care, but she is also looking at an experimental drug that is not covered.

But sometimes the drug companies will cover you for "humanitarian" reasons. We are still waiting to hear.
