20 to 24 C equates to 68 to 75 F (thanks to google).

Humph. Back when I was on the internet, we weren't "surfing the web" with natty visual interface and pretty pictures. It was all TEXT! *sulks* An' we liked it that way.

Goddamn it... I wrote my entire history fiction book with my blind main character in 1775 using… a method of cane moving (y’know, how the blind would swing their cane side to side or tap?) that wasn’t introduced until the 1940s.

Meaning… Amos would either be holding it at an angle in a straight line, or upward like a staff. Not using it like blind folks today. He wouldn’t be ‘tapping along the floorboards’ or ‘swinging my cane side to side in an arc’.

I surrender my history degree. I surrender it all. Now to go soak my head in a basin.

Do you know Blind Jack of Knaresborough? If not, look him up. Very prominent working man of around the same time with a very interesting life who was quite well chronicled because of it.

Blind Jack of Knaresborough sounds like an absolute mad lad.

Apparently he got a woman pregnant and ran off with her

He basically:

- raced horses

- gambled at cards and dices

- swam across rivers for shits and giggles

- went hunting and shot birds

- got a gig transporting supplies for the British Army during the Jacobite Rebellion

And that’s just scratching the surface…
