One of my lilac bushes died this summer, I don't know why. It's been here since we moved here.

I've got a service to take care of the yard now, I'll have to ask them to take it out.

I got the Monday blues so bad it ain't true. It wasn't hectic at work or anything, but the heatwave is on, and it was getting pretty uncomfortable at my office nook in the hours before quittin' time. Unforch it's only going to get worse tomorrow and extra worse the day after 😭

I want to walk down to the beach today, but low tide coincides with the hottest time of the day. Heat is not my friend. Guess I can go down toward evening and just not go too far down the beach. It runs along a forested cliff, and getting caught by rising tide means climbing a tree and spending the night there. Not a good option for an arthritic old lady.

It is beautiful. One looks across the sound at Mt Rainier rising into the sky. At high tide, the water comes up to the lower tree branches. I grew up on the Texas Gulf Coast where there are no trees and no cliffs, but there are long, beautiful white sand beaches and warm waves to play in.

My back yard changes so much from winter to summer. I have a couple of acres surrounded by woodlot. It's dreary and bleak in winter, but come summer it bursts alive with green.

There are chain link fences in my neighborhood. Something you hardly see in a setting on tv.
Oh and a half mile down is a drive in theater/swap meet. A mile west is the beach filled with sewage from the Tijuana river. Such a lovely smell with the patio doors open.
