A couple of days ago it rained heavily here. (We're in late winter). When I left work, I was rained on. I went into the city, had dinner, and went to rehearsal.

Then I took the late train home. I got to my station ... and was rained on.

Luckily I had my umbrella, but my winter coat still got damp enough that I had to dry it overnight.

If I were the paranoid sort, I might have thought that god (whoever he/she/it is) was pissing on me. But I'm not, so I didn't. ;)

Don't really have much to add today. Just looking forward to a 5-day weekend after getting through tomorrow's shift. So, I'll just share a meme I saw earlier:

I would never complain about laundry, especially since I still know what a washboard is (and what it feels like to wash with one). ;) My grandmother (god rest her soul) had one and used it most of her life, and told me all about it. I only used it once or twice; it's very hard work.

Thank $deity$ we've moved on from those days to washing machines and dryers. Before those things became de rigueur, doing the laundry could easily be an all-day task.

I still have an ironing board hanging on the back of the door that goes from the kitchen to the garage. I have no idea where the iron is.

I sew. Not only do I know where my iron is, I use it on a regular basis. Folks learning to sew don't realize how much of the process involves proper pressing.

I used to iron my shirts, but then I figured I could just hang them and never fold them, haven't ironed since. Sure it ain't perfect like after a good ironing, but a small wrinkle here and there haven't killed me, yet. Though as I grow older, I bet the wrinkles on my face will indicate how near death I am.

I have things I dry in the dryer, some things I hang to dry, and some shirts I dry flat, and between these methods I am wrinkle-free!

Shirts are different now. I haven't had to iron anything in a few years, I feel. Probably less/shoddier material that doesn't have the substance to form a wrinkle.

It's funny they call it an iron when it is not made of iron anymore.
Stainless-steelion > Stelion?

New clothes I buy just fall apart if I look at them too long.

I’ve just started. Using quality clothes again, there’s a massive different between a £20 shirt and a £60 shirt in terms of fit and material

Unfortunately the expensive onesdo need more ironing. Because they are cotton or linen instead of polyester

Polyester is the worst. Especially bedclothes filled with plastic-like material stuffing. You sweat like crazy and they don't breathe. They must be bad for long-term health somehow.

I make sure to buy bedclothes stuffed with feathers, they feel much better. Sure, I can sweat in that stuff as well, but not as much.
