We've had several gatherings of the clan, not always but often for funerals, where the disparate threads come together, some with links that go back several generations, and various older and newer generations in the same room and the conformity within the broad base has been stunning. Distant cousins whom I'd never met before remind me of my brothers and sisters. The older generations morph into my grandparents when the likeness may not have been evident previously.

Given I've 8 older siblings, can I now retrospectively charge them rent for their unsolicited deposits without incurring a debt to my 3 younger sibs?

I don't think I've ever had beef Wellington in my life, but I bet I would like it.

Caveat: I'm half-blind and profoundly deaf.

Was reading Mellor's biography A Touch of Genius about Louis Braille; got to the part where he described how his friends and family described him, specifically his eyes. Now, in Victorian times, as I understand it, it was customary to describe a person's eyes as it was said to be the windows to the soul. His friends described his right eye as glazed white due to the awl injury, and his left clouded over. 'Course, my creativity took over and wanted to try and replicate what his friends and family would've seen him in life, so I took the famous death portrait of Louis Braille and got to work.

This was done entirely with MS Paint, with no AI assistance. Hope y'all like it!

I'm a night owl. Was up until around 2:00, then my dear husband woke me up at 8:30 because our grandson is home sick. His excuse: "I don't know anything about schools." Honest to god, you'd think the man has been living under a bushel basket for thirty years. Look the telephone number up online, call the damn school, and say, "Kid is sick and not coming in." Nope, makes tons more sense to wake me up an hour early so I can call. Day after tomorrow is our 44th anniversary, but if he pulls this again, we may not make it that far.

Thank you.

He just got home from his regular eye shot for macular degeneration. He says the shots are working.

Being both glad and sympathetic, I have decided to let him stay in the regular house instead of out with the dogs... this time.
