From some quick internetting, it looks like Sephora does offer many cruelty-free products that have never involved animal testing at any stage of development. However,

"Although Sephora as a brand do not test their finished products on animals, they nevertheless pay others to test their products on animals “where required by law”. This means that Sephora is not cruelty-free.

When companies claim that they test on animals “where required by law”, it typically means that they sell their products in mainland China, where cosmetics are legally required to be tested on animals.

Sephora also doesn’t mention whether or not their suppliers test on animals or if their ingredients are tested on animals, which is a red flag."

Such testing involves things like rubbing the product in an animal's eyes, and shoving tubes down their throats for forced ingestion.

The weatherfolks are promising us winter in the upcoming week. I'll believe it when I see it. January and December both broke records for warmest temperatures on record. My darned spring bulbs are coming up and I've caught sight of birds we usually don;t see for another month of two. I expect record amounts of snow all across the northern Rockies in March, though, since I have to drive from here to the Puget Sound the middle of that month.

Weird how it can vary so wildly. This is probably the coldest and snowiest winter I've experienced since I moved here just over 11 years ago. Low for tonight is a chilly -25C.

Move along, move along. No climate change to see here.

A couple of winters ago, we were enjoying temperatures of -40 F, which strangely enough is also -40 C. That was chilly enough to get one's attention. This side of town lost power for half of the coldest night. We live near the substation, and let me tell you, those folks were working unceasingly in deadly conditions to restore power. We have a good woodstove so stayed warm. No idea how folks living in trailers and, god forfend, cars or tents kept from dying during that stretch of weather.

I agree, but I wished it had subtitles so I could understand it. Of course, I can't understand most of the rap that's done in English, so I shouldn't give Bad Bunny a demerit for that.

I did speculate on whether those two people actually got married during the show. That would have been something to brag to their grandchildren about.

Didn't see the game, not sure who was playing, don't care who won, but I know what an O-line is. My dad was an offensive lineman in high school.

Did I ever mention I was statistician for my high school junior varsity football team? The junior varsity coaches did statistics for the varsity team. My co-statistician and I got honorary letters for football at the end of our senior year. I loooooved puttting "lettered in football" on my college application.

I always liked playing volleyball. Used to play in an adult league just for fun.

Got all our accommodation bookings done for our trip to the East Coast in June.

I'm pretty excited about going to Newfoundland

I'm back in Ireland after a weekend in London and not a Costco within shouting distance. Good weekend, dragged out that old sociable me in social settings and, must say, maybe contender for sociablest in the group of highly proficient social animals. Maybe not, they are fairly adept, but still...maybe I'll find I like it again?

Met our son's new girlfriend. She's lovely, they look great together, effortless.

Now, over the next little while I'm going to get some proper writing done. Knackered tonight, but tomorrow!! I know what I have to do and time to get off my ass and do it.

I'm taking my ass to bed now to read in bed. Lovely way to end the evening
