Both !The trash talk or the fake money?
Haha perfect!Both !
This phrasing immediately made me crave amber spirits for whatever reason. And a glass of Jack while I'm at it.
Chase me off

I have the same problem sometimes.I have so little self-control...

me three
7 weeks for me and I could totally get used to it if it wasn't for the whole money thing. Having to replace my furnace half way through that didn't help. I think I might need to get me a lower case "job" sooner rather than later to stave off the necessity of the capital "JOB." It's more of a mental thing.I've been "retired" for nearly 4 months now. I gotta say, I could get used to this. I don't want another job; I just want to keep doing fun things (well, and writing stuff, too).
After replacing said furnace and a fence and eventually the roof in the next few years, there are arguments in both directions. My mortgage is half what I would pay in rent, but toss in the other shit, and we get a lot closer. Theoretically, the house matures in value and you sell it for a boatload of cash but then you have to... pay to live someplace else? I don't want to think about it.Yep, I missed the bus on home ownership and it will simply never happen now. Rent til I die, work til I die. Yay.

Yeah it sucks. Thousands of dollars on a major appliance and roof, and... congratulations, the house at least won't significantly lose value.Yeah, there's taxes, tons of maintenance, various risks. My mom just had her roof done $$$. But ultimately it's an investment, which is far better than pissing away money on rent. It's wild to me that there's a generation of people who both own a home AND have a pension and retirement savings. I ain't gonna have either.
Maybe if you retire to a lower cost area. I'm ride-till-die on cars and probably my house, though for the latter it's when I die. Then it will get demo'd and replaced with multi unit.Theoretically, the house matures in value and you sell it for a boatload of cash but then you have to... pay to live someplace else? I don't want to think about it.
My grandpa used to tell me to try living through the Depression or get shot at by Nazis whenever I thought I had it rough. Now the younglings tell me to try living in a world with no housing and AI taking all the jobs. I guess I hit the creamy middle?Yeah, there's taxes, tons of maintenance, various risks. I think you're a bit late. Boomers, nineteen 50-60s. $17k houses. Ridiculously high wages for manufacturing. One earner. My grandpa used to tell me to try living through the Depression or get shot at by Nazis whenever I thought I had it rough.
