Had a wonderful day today! Then we had a fantastic dinner at Olde Dublin Pub - live music, good food and a couple of Killarney Kool-aids!

I don't know I've ever eaten in an Olde Dublin Pub. Back when I was in college there was a pub called The Auld Dubliner where you'd find auld Dubliners drinkin' pints a stout. Last time I was in it, it was just another cafe bar in Temple Bar. I should go to Newfoundland!

It's the only province I've never been to and I have a feeling it would be the most interesting.
Back in our '96 road trip, we returned to Ottawa to stay with a brother for the last couple of weeks before flying home. We drove to Quebec, then took a road north and kept going for what seemed a long while. Money had run out and credit cards were catching up with us, so there was little else we could do. Hours in, very remote, Newfoundland visible (I think), but we turned back, partly because we had run out of money and partly because the flat earthers might have been right and we'd drive right off the edge. It felt like that, anyway.
Don't order a chicken wrap from Tim Horton's in Quebec.

The deal has always been that we torture our teenagers with the Leaving Certificate final exam and we get great weather while they're being sacrificed. The Leaving started Wednesday.

It's a perfect, beautiful and sunny 20C day. Took my old kitty out on the balcony for a brief adventure, and I've got all the windows open. According to the extended forecast, it looks to be the last such day before the hot and humid summer weather begins. I'll be installing the air conditioner tomorrow in preparation.
Extremely excited for hockey tonight. Hope it's another all-timer with lots of action and drama. Happy weekend !
