I love that flick. Got a thing for historical fiction.

My favourite movie of all time is The Fifth Element. Not a perfect film, but it's so much fun and it's just so rewatchable. I can throw that one on any time.

The temperature turned chilly. It's only about 15 degrees C here.

We're going to my sister's today, and she has a heated pool so we'll all still go in!

Out of curiosity, how so?

Googling for articles. I am starting up a new roleplay and am considering making the genre steampunk.

Here's a couple of good ones:

Definitely Celtic. Natalie MacMaster and Ashley MacIsaac

(Does the Mac instead of Mc mean Scottish rather than Irish?)

Celtic music is great. The authentic kind is played largely in unison, with all instruments mirroring each other, using the inherent sounds of the instruments to color the notes rather than harmonies. Kind of that anti-jazz. I'm not 100% sure why that is, but I imagine it's due to the primitive instruments the original pieces were composed on. The original pipe was tuned to a Dorian mode, I believe, but that was long before the Western diatonic scales were standardized.

I would probably have a hell of a time learning the fiddle, actually. They tune the strings in perfect fifths to minimize position shifting. The guitar is in fourths. Completely different. Doable, but it's like shifting the alphabet by one letter.

A deciding game 7 is about to begin between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers.

The Leafs haven't made it past the second round in more than 20 years, and infamously haven't won a cup since 1967. The Cats are the reigning champs. Whoever wins tonight makes it to the final 4. Should prove an exciting evening !
