Buy parboiled rice. Problem solved.
Unforch all sella rice is parboiled, and it still STINKS when you cook it! At least it still tastes great and does not stink when you reheat it. I'll know soon enough if a couple hours' soak resolves this issue. If not, hey, first world problems.
 
I feel like I've been hit by a truck. Heat index was only 100 today, but is going up all week, peaking at 110 on Tuesday, so I had to get all my outdoor work done today. Tree trimming on the ladder, gutters around the trees, bamboo stalks growing 10 feet high behind my garage, which migrated under the fence from my neighbor's yard, who I love dearly, so no beef there. 7 hours outside but worth it. Grilled ribeyes and swordfish for dinner, with a couple of gin and tonics that aren't doing oogatz with the heat. Going to be an early night, I think. Anniversary is tomorrow, then off to NH for the next week. I have to work while I'm up there, but that's okay. I usually hike up a small mountain and Hotspot my laptop to get it done. Could be worse.
