A names are easy. Aaron, Andy, Andrew, Abercromby, Alan, Andrea, etc.
L names are a tiny bit trickier. Lawrence, Laurence, Larry, Laura, Lori (yes, I'm cheating
), Lily, Leah, Logan, Lucy, Lillian, Lucia, Lydia, Leonardo, Lancelot ...

How do you say it over in Ireland? Zee or zed?
I'm not Irish, but I'd hazard a guess it's 'Zed'. AFAIK, 'Zee' is only common in the United States.

But when we sing the Alphabet song, we do say Zee

Someone set off a firecracker and scared my poor puppy dog last night. Given extreme fire conditions, you'd think people might have better sense than to light little sticks of gunpowder and shoot sparks into the air.

z is zed not zee in my book. However, the abc rhyme I learned in school ended with zee but the jazzed up version I've heard as an adult ends in zed.
My grandmother was a dress maker and she always referred to a zipper as "an azip" no matter what words surrounded it, which I always found peculiar. I think it had something to do with z as an uncommon starting sound on the word.

I wonder why they put the extra z in pizza? Would not piza have done?

It would have, but I'm sure some ignorant people (tourists and otherwise) would then confuse it with that place with the slightly off-kilter tower.
I don't think you can put pineapple on pizzazz ...
