It Began in a Tavern (OOC Thread) (Part 2)

I'm so glad to hear this! Take your time. Read over posts if you need to. We are in this together!
We are. I was really, really drawing a blank for my last post. So, I will think on this.

Also, in regards to Ravenna, I do think having a reflection post is good. But I think we may have had many of those for her at this point. I want some more with Olive and Katara. Also, we need to start hinting something is seriously wrong with Ravenna. Thoughts on how you want to do this? Because I am happy to write it, but I also want to be fair to the other characters and stick to the current plots. How might I weave this in?

I always read over the most recent posts before I decide where I am going to go with my entry. That might help.

Ravenna, I do think having a reflection post is good.

Or have Gamma or Yuuna appealing to her.

Remember - Gamma told Yuuna that Olive knows her song. Yuuna has joined with Olive.

Also, we need to start hinting something is seriously wrong with Ravenna.

How can she overcome this and at the same time help her friends?

I will do that. I guess it really proves I am bad at remembering what I read on a computer! Because if it was on paper, I would 100% remember ALL the details. I know it. (Stupid Dyslexia, I guess??)

Oh, that sounds good. How about a nighttime scene where Yuuna talks to Ravenna? Like, Ravenna's awake because she's not feeling well and Yuuna asks what she wants out of all this? Or maybe, asks if Ravenna's willing to lay down her life to protect Olive after Ravenna asks why Olive is so important? Because I doubt Ravenna knows much about the scriptures. So, it would be a perfect place for that to be explained further, along with the prophesy. Thoughts?

I think she overcomes it when Barnabas saves her life. I don't think there is anything Ravenna can really do to make herself feel better, because it's a physical illness.

Excellent! Write it! Really get into the belly of Ravenna.

Also, can I get all the info I need on the scriptures? I looked the lore encyclopedia and I didn't see anything about them specifically. Or do you wnat me to make some stuff that fits?

I think what we have established so far is that the Scriptures state that a lab rat, a poet-scientist, and a mage (Ravenna, Katara, Olive) must make the journey together to find out the truth and save humanity.

Also - Olive's Angel Mark - the wings on her forehead - are mentioned in the Scriptures.

And - Wren recalled this quote from the Scriptures: Timeless light shall free them all.

@ps102 - anything else you can think of?

We don't have a lot of information about the scriptures. There was talk about writing bodies of them into existence at some point but the idea was then dropped, which was probably the right decision because of how much work it would be.

@Louanne Learning gave away much of it. Here is what else I remember:
  1. The spirits had a fundamental role in creating the world. Yuuna, for example, was the bringer of light.
  2. Early in history, humans and spirits lived in harmony, but this ceased to be the case when something happened between them. This is mentioned both in the scriptures and is also shown through Yuuna's negative attitude towards humanity.
  3. The scriptures mention a mysterious entity known as "The Architect". Who he is, and what his role was, is largely unknown. Scholars who study these scriptures (including the Queen and Araspeth) debate whether he is a God-like entity or simply a powerful human that existed in the past.
  4. At some point, The Architect created a powerful gear-shaped device. People in ancient times feared its power and potential, so they broke it in fragments and scattered them throughout the world. The Queen is collecting them now to re-assemble them all back into a gear.
  5. It's unknown who wrote the scriptures.
I guess all of this should really go into the Encyclopedia. Can I compile an entry for it?

Thank you so much for letting me think about my post and all. However, I honestly need to leave the roleplay so I can focus on college. You can continue to write Ravenna, Nalki and Charin for the remainder of the story. In regards to Ravenna, you are allowed to kill her off if you would like or not for the plot/character building. As for her story ending, she can have a happy or tragic end. Thank you for understanding and I will continue to read along. :)

Please just delete my last entry so my last post is the one with the trio arriving in town and finding disguises. Thanks.

I hope you do well there and thanks for participating so far.

So, now that Luxuria has left, we're down to three writers. If anyone else leaves, I don't think this can continue, so before any more work is put towards it, I really need to ask everyone if they're not only still willing to participate, but are also willing to see this through the end. It will be a huge shame if we keep going, only for someone to quit two months later. It'd be game over then because two writers is just not enough.

I'm hands down willing to see this through to the end. I genuinely think that this story has a lot of interesting aspects to it so it's very much worth finishing.

What does everyone else think?
