Too much Gemini action going on here. I'm another one.

I can't post while drunk these days, as it's been eight and a half years since I stopped. (Christmas Day 2016, the day George Michael passed)

But as I write right now there is a hen party howling and oozing its way down the street below my window (00:59). A stag will be along soon, no doubt.

So my sobriety still has the same soundtrack of squabbles, sweat and swearing as my nights on the sauce used to have.

My beer sales drop every year. Wine sales too. Specialty cocktails is all people want to drink these days. Fine by me. I'd rather get $16 for a drink than $8. Still love beer, though.

Alas, I never got a taste for beer. All beers taste like bitter water to me. *shrug* I tried wine, but all wines smell like vinegar to me.

So, I confine myself to very small (and very occasional) shots of vodka. (Proper vodka, though: Smirnov or Absolut are fine). My favourite, though, is crème de menthe on ice; hardly a specialty cocktail, but a sweet, mint-flavoured drink that's also very good for upset stomachs. Best as an after-dinner drink.

Having my first real drinking session in a month, occasioned by my birthday. I turned 36, which is the second oldest I've ever been. Got gifted a couple bottles of wine and I thought I had best remove the temptation, according to Oscar Wilde's timeless advice. I don't drink much anymore, but this is a battlefield I've stood on many times before, and nothing as toothless as some grape squeezin's is gonna get the better of me, I rather think. Cheers to anyone out there who might be raising a glass of whatever, for whatever reason.
