Agreed, I have never been able to understand competitive eating. Why stuff yourself like a Christmas goose, or a duck who will be turned into pâté de foie gras?

This is clearly not the case. If it were so, then none of us would be able to make any choices at all -- and therefore, for instance, the supermarkets would only need to stock one kind of breakfast food. "Presenting: UNIFORMITY - THE BREAKFAST OF THE MASSES!"
