Suggestions and ideas

Blogs aren’t happening period, if it’s writing content put it in a thread, if it’s not writing content put it on Facebook or medium or wherever gives you greatest pleasure

We also have The Writer's Showcase

Which everybody continues to critique and offer feedback... exactly like the Workshop.

I don't always look to see where the story has been posted. I kind of automatically assume it's been posted in the Workshop. I haven't critiqued in the Showcase, but I came close once or twice.

the other issue with linked images is where they come from, a) anything linked from sketchy sites would harm our seo, and b) even with legit links long term members may remember that when photobucket died a lot of links that had been legit when posted turned into porn and or scam and spam.

by and large my view on this is that we are a writers forum, ergo we should as far as possible communicate in the written word, threads full of cat memes or whatever arent really in keeping with our ethos

Suggesting a blog again. ✍️ I felt compelled to because an idea for a blog post seized me this morning.
Yeah i second this....
I wasnt big into the blogs before, but the list of "Weird Shit JT Found" keeps piling up.
Today, i found a collection audio recordings from a migrant incampment during the Dust Bowl.
Songs and interviews.
Really interesting! And i want to share it, but dont quite now where......

That and i found a book about stuttering and lisps from 1912 😬

Our sister site, wf.com, has blogs. Could put it on there

I've been thinking about this for a while now and I don't know if it's been brought up before, but I love interactive fiction. If we had some sort of thread, contest, or general system of writing text-based rpg's, I think many would enjoy it. Of course, these stories would be a bit longer, maybe between 1000 and 30,000 words, but I bet my bottom dollar some of us would be for it. Anybody have their thoughts on this?

You started an RPG in the correct section - but you didn't go through a phase of seeing of there was any interest in participating or recruiting players. That's probably why no one has signed up for it. You need to do some work in drumming up interest, it isn't just a case of posting some threads and seeing if anyone will participate, a lot of people don't read that section of the forum.

But it depends what you mean by "writing text-based RPGs".
