I understand where you are coming from, but I am sorry, I cannot bend the rules in this instance. Characters need to be approved before they enter the story. Also, we need to make them available to the other players.

All roleplays first begin with character creation. It's the way a roleplay works. Creating characters first provides the framework for player actions and interactions, and story development.

You do not need to completely flesh out your characters, but just include a couple of sentences for each of the criteria in the template.

Perhaps you misunderstood me, I wasn't asking for you to bend any rules. I wasn't asking to make a post and then get the character approved.

I guess the only thing I was asking was to keep my place in the post order while I sort out the character and the post.

Sounds good. I'm looking forward to getting the details about your character. But this does need to done before the post to the official story is made. It's just the way a roleplay works.

I notice that air is not one of the five traditional elements in the wuxing system, yet air plays a significant role in steampunk.

There's a lot of ways we can then take this - what role does air play in the system? Good or bad?

Or - I'm thinking - the complete fusion of good and bad in one?

Air and wind are associated with Wood, the phase of growth and change. Sometimes positive, other times causing imbalance and frustration. Whether a character views air and the steampunk inventions it powers as good or bad can depend entirely on their perception, and maybe a specific object's purpose as well.

The good/bad fusion would be Earth, the balance of all things and center of the yin-yang, even more stabilizing than Wood can be. Since all the elements and their phases are connected in cycles, the air of steampunk contributing to or offsetting the worldly balance wouldn't be far-fetched.

Definitely a lot of possibilities.
