You're welcome! I am so glad to find someone so passionate about it. Because I really need help from someone who understands all this. This is my obsession. I love you for asking.
Yeah, it's the form of material that is confusing and making things complicated. Because A doesn't know what she's really messing with and it's in powder form. Or at least, she has been able to make it into powder form. I would LOVE some help. If it is okay, i will PM you with more story details to help you understand what is going on.There are tons of references for radiation depending on the material, the form that material takes (ore, dust, etc), levels of exposure and impact on the human body. If you need help breaking down some of these concepts I'd be happy to help.
Your story sounds really cool and I would love to read it. I love alternate history stories. And thanks! I know your research will.It would be cool to see that research help another writer!
Yeah, that's the trouble I was having. Because radioactivity effects seem to be different based on the element involved. Like Radium vs. Uranium or Plutonium. Also, the effects of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki gave off a different FORM of radiation. Which does not help me much in this story. Thanks so much for all the links. It really helps and I will PM you soon.As others have mentioned, the Radium girls are a pretty notable example but their exopsure was to a different material.
